Wincheap Community Update

Dear Resident,

I hope everyone is keeping well and making the most of the sunshine we've had recently. I wanted to share a quick update on a few things we've been dealing with in the area.

We're continuing to see reports of motorbike thefts in Wincheap and surrounding Canterbury wards. The offenders appear to be operating during the early hours of the morning and targeting bikes that are easier to access or not securely stored. In the last week, my colleagues and I have recovered two stolen motorbikes in Thanington, and we're working hard to identify those responsible. If you own a motorbike, please make sure it's securely locked, parked in a safe location where possible, and consider additional security such as CCTV or a tracking device.

I've also received reports of nuisance vehicles around Lime Kiln Road and the nearby play area. This will be a focus for me over the coming weeks. If you witness off-road bikes being used antisocially, please report it as soon as possible so we can build a clearer picture of the issue.

On a positive note, this week officers from the Canterbury Local Policing Team arrested a male in Wincheap who was found in possession of a significant quantity of cannabis. We remain committed to tackling drug-related crime and targeting those who bring illegal drugs into our communities. As always, if you have any information that could assist us, please get in touch. I've also been spending plenty of time on foot patrol in Wincheap recently, speaking with residents and maintaining a visible presence in the area. Although the hot weather, World Cup and other policing demands have kept us busy, we're still focused on the priorities you've highlighted through the My Community Voice surveys:
